Cory Kidman was found to show Ollie, our show wether
... Fred and Grover's brother. Almost from the day
Ollie was born, he was destined to be our show wether
at the Cullman IBGA/Meat goat show. After all, Queue
sons always show in Cullman. We found out the USBGA
show at Upper
Cumberland Goat Producers Association Goat Day
and Show, May 21, 2005 had a wether show, so we decided
to take Ollie so he would at least have been fitted
out, and been in a ring before his big show. However,
we had to find a youth to show him. At check-in Pat
found a young gentleman to show him. We were a little
worried about Ollie in the ring, but Cory had little
difficulty with Ollie, setting him up, and leading
him. They both looked great. The judge commented about
how good both did in the ring. Ollie took first and
the young man's smile made it worthwhile hauling Ollie
to the show.

Tiffany took Ollie to the 4H Columbia, TN
Goat Show where he took first in his class and received
the overall Grand Champion rossetta. The next show
Ollie was in was the Williamson County Fair where
he placed fifth.

Ollie took first place
in his class a the Hardin
County Fair with Tifffany at the helm. (Shown
above with Casey.)

It was decided that Ollie
needed to lose some weight before state. So... Ollie
entered the Tennessee State Fair at 9 lbs less than
at the Hardin County Fair. Tiffany gave Ollie every
chance to win, but in a big class, came in fourth.
FOURTH AT STATE!!! We will always wonder if we had
'shaved' him down to the skin, if he would have placed
better. The Texas judge seemed to like sheep-looking
goats. If this had been the 'last' show for the wethers,
maybe a shave, but he has at least two more shows.
Ollie took a fourth at the Tennessee
State Fair.
